Psalm 39:5 (New International Version) You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath. Selah

Resting the World
Revelation 20: online
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Result: Revelation 21:1-3
21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

I was walking down the road when I saw an Afghan bloke standing on a fifth floor balcony shaking a carpet.
I shouted up to him, "what's up Abdul, won't it start?"

1/2 Boy 1/2 Man
The average age of the military man is 19 years.
He Is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, old enough to buy a beer, and old enough to die for his country. He Never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father's, but he has never collected unemployment either.
He Is a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student , average student , pursued some form of sport activities
Drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He Listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and a 155mm howitzer.. |
He Is 5 or 7 kilos lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk.
He Has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He Can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.
He Digs foxholes and latrines
and can apply first aid
like a professional..
|
He Can march until he is told to stop, or stop until he is told to march. He Obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient. He Has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry. He Sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.
IF ...
You're thirsty, he'll share his water with you;
You are hungry, his food. He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.
He Has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He Can save your life - or take it, because that is his job. He Will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and still find ironic humour in it all. He Has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short lifetime.
He Has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed. He Feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away ' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking.
In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.
Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy.
He Is the Australian Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 142 years.
He Has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding.
Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood.
And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so.As you go to bed tonight remember this shot. A short lull, a little shade and a picture of loved ones in their helmets.
A Prayer wheel for our military...
Please don't break it.
Please send this on after a short prayer.
Prayer WheelWhen you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops in Afghanistan, sailors on ships, and airmen in the air. There is nothing attached...
'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.'
This can be very powerful...I can't break this one.
Of all the gifts you could give a Australian Airman, Soldier, or Sailor, prayer is the very best one.
Pass it on to everyone and pray. Thank you!
If you read this,
You WILL forward it on.
You just won't be able to stop yourself.

Thinking or Obsessions
When does thinking turn into obsessions?
And that would cause STRESS!!!
What do you Think?
Bring all thoughts in captive
With Gods Help!: If your going to think then on these things
I suggest:When you cant stop thinking about what your thinking!!
And that would cause STRESS!!!
What do you Think?
Bring all thoughts in captive
2 Corinthians 10:5
English Standard Version (ESV)
5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
Philippians 4:8
Living Bible (TLB)
8 And now, brothers, as I close this letter, let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.
